JAMMU, Dec 5: Christian Star, Mussa Football Club and Shaheen Football Club scripted convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing 1st Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Memorial Gold Cup State League Football Tournament , being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
In the first match, Christian Star defeated Engineers XI by two goals to nil (2-0). Vinay Mooman scored the first goal in 35th minute, while Anar pelted the second goal in 58th minute.
In another match, Mussa FC defeated State Football Academy by a solitary goal in a tough contest. Chirag was the goal scorer for Mussa Club in 65th minute.
In third match of the day, Shaheen Football Club drubbed Vijay Club by one goal to nil (1-0). Ashish Mehra scored the goal in 27th minute.
Meanwhile, Young Rovers held Young Heroes to (2-2) draw. Young Rovers scored the 1st and 3rd goals in 7th and 21st minutes, while Young Heroes netted the 2nd and 4th goals in 19th and 65th minutes.
The matches were officiated by Sanjay Kumar, Moon Stephen, Dinesh Verma, Ricky Kumar, Dil Bahadur, Vijay Kumar, Rinku Gill and Romesh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, NGR will take on Churchill Brothers at 1 pm, while Sainik Colony will lock horns with Param FC at 3 pm.
