Choudhary Committee organises Dangal

JAMMU, Oct 28: Choudhary Committee Gujjar Basti organised Indian Style Wrestling (Dangal) at Village Karnaley of Marh area, here today.
The National wrestlers Gani Lehriya of Punjab and Benia Pahalwan of Jammu lifted the Dangal title by defeating Bhola Pahalwan of Delhi and Gopi Lehriya of Chandigarh.
Dozens bouts were played during the day long Dangal in which wrestlers from different parts of the country took part, wherein former Minister, Choundary Sukhnandan Kumar and chairman J&K BJP Panchayati Raj Cell was the chief guest who distributed cash prizes among the winner and runner-up wrestlers in presence of former MLC Vikram Randhawa, DDC Mandal Geetu Aulakh and others.
Both winners were awarded with Rs 85,000 cash prize and runner up wrestlers were awarded cash prize of Rs 65,000 each.
Speaking on the occasion, the former Minister said that sports plays an important role in psychological and social development and there is a dire need to provide an appropriate platform to youth enabling them to exhibit their sports talent.
BJYM District Rural president Deepak Panday, Sarpanch Sonam Aulakh, Sarpanch Balbir Lal, Sarpanch Balbir Singh and many others were present during the event.
