Chirag wins Silver in CWEC

JAMMU, Aug 10: Chirag Bhandari- a 15 year old student and domicile of Jammu and Kashmir brought laurels to Union Territory by winning Silver medal in Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (CWEC).
He is the first person in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to win this prestigious award for his essay in the senior category on the topic community in the Commonwealth.
He reflects his desire as in the concluding lines of his essay “Our tryst to experiment and our desire to fly high in a liberal sky persuaded us to alter the world for the betterment of the new united community which we call the world” and was appreciated by the jury for his sharp thinking on the topic.
The queens essay competition is the world’s oldest writing competition established in 1883 and organised by Royal Commonwealth Society London and Queen of Great Britain.
The student has also co-authored two research papers on Covid-19 and Spanish flu.
