SRINAGAR, Nov 28: Minister for Medical and Technical Education and Sports, R.S. Chib convened a high level meeting of officers here at youth hostel today and took stock of the arrangements made by the divisional /district administration for organizing a Tour De International Motor Cycling Race to be organized at Royal Spring Golf Course on December 4, 2012 in which 120 cyclists of international level will participate.
Mr. Chib asked the concerned authorities to fully cooperate with each other to make the event successful on international level which will help the state to become famous.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Sports, Secretary Sports Council, Srinagar IGP Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, SP Traffic Srinagar, Joint Commissioner, Sports Council, Joint Director of Information Kashmir, officers of Sports Department and other functionaries.
While discussing various issues relating the international event, the Minister emphasized the officers for ensuring adequate arrangements for transport, medical facilities etc for the International cyclists.
Mr. Chib was informed that services of seven ambulances and medical team would be kept available on the event to meet any exigency. He was also apprised that SRTC will arrange better transport facility during the event.
The Minister directed the Department of Information for arranging special cultural programme as well as media coverage on State level.
