Chib inaugurates Sub-Junior cricket championship at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, Sept 20: 2nd sub-junior cricket championship 2012 was inaugurated today by the Minister for Youth Services and Sports, R.S. Chib at Mother-e-Meherban(MM) Sports Stadium Ganderbal.
The Championship is organized by Jammu and Kashmir 15-15 Cricket Association in collaboration with Sub-Junior Cricket Association of India.
About 400 players, coaches and managers are participating in the championships which include 250 boys, 50 girls from the various States of the country.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Minister reiterated the government commitment to promote sports activities and develop sports infrastructure in the State and said that various measures have been taken in this behalf. The Minister said that by organizing such sports events the immense sports talent in States’ youth would further be honed to enable them to participate at National and International sports events. He said the visiting players would get real taste of States’ culture of brotherhood and religious tolerance and would be our ambassadors for the country to present real picture of the Jammu and Kashmir State. He said by encouraging and organizing sports activities the talent of the youth would get properly channelized for better sportsmanship and comradeare.
He said that the event will be a platform for exchange of cultural ties, brotherhood and unity among the participating players.
