Chib inaugurates CRPF Synergy Cup T20 Cricket Tourney

SRINAGAR, Oct 9: Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, RS Chib inaugurated the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) “Synergy Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament in a well attended function, here today.
The tournament is being organised by 35 Bn of CRPF at Budgam Sports Stadium, near here.
The Minister appreciated the endeavour of CRPF in bridging the gap between forces and people of Kashmir during inaugural speech.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sudhir Pratap Singh, IGP CRPF Srinagar sector, S SS Sandhu, IGP/CRPF ops sector and senior officers of CRPF, besides senior functionaries of the State ,Airforce, Airlines.
Inaugural match was played between SSP Budgam-XI and Star Club Ompora, wherein Star Club Ompora won the match by 50 runs. Riyaz Ahmed scored 109 and remained not out.
Total Eight teams are participating in the tournament. The tournament will be played on knock out basis. Participating teams are Humhama Cricket Club, Star Club Ompora, Burn Hall School, Budgam Blues, SSP Budgam-XI, CRPF-XI, Airlines XI, Media XI.
The purpose of conducting this tournament is to develop synergy and provide entertainment as well as opportunity to locals for better understanding.
