JAMMU, May 2: The owners and representatives of participating cricket teams and outstanding performers of just concluded Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) were presented cheques against cash prizes by Chairman Board of Directors of PPCPL, Danesh Rana, IGP Jammu and the General Secretary of PPCPL, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu, here today.
The Representative of BCC Bulls received a cheque of Rs.5 lakh for winning the tournament, while the Representative of Simula Superstars, the runners-up team received a cheque of Rs.3 lakh, Banu Partap Singh owner of Chenab Gas Royals received a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh for 3rd ranking in the tournament and Avtar Singh, owner of Jammu Khalsa Kings received cheque of Rs.1.50 lakh for 4th ranking in the tournament.
Bandeep Singh of Chenab Gas Royals received cheque of Rs.50,000 as man of the series, while Atul Kumar Sharma received cheque of Rs.25,000 as cash prize on being declared as best batsman of the tournament and Amir Sofi received a cheque of Rs 25,000 for best bowler of the tournament.
The cheques amounting to Rs 17 lakh distributed included Rs.10,000 for win in every league match conducted during the tournament, Rs.3,000 for man of the matches, Rs.2,000 for most sixes and Rs 1,000 for best catch in each match.
On the occasion, Mr Rana and Mr Beig congratulated the owners of these teams and outstanding performers of the tournament and wished them best of luck.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajnish Pran Sharma, SSP SO to DIG, Jammu, Ashok Sharma, SSP SO to IG Jammu Zone, Parshotam Sharma, Deputy Director Prosecution, Rajesh Gill, organizing secretary, besides commentators Rajesh Dhar and R P Singh.
