DODA, Oct 27: Chenab White Water Rafting Festival under ‘Back to Village Phase-4’, organised by the District administration under the overall guidance and directions of Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan in coordination with JK Adventure Group and Extreme Adventure Group, commenced today at Premnagar’s Shibnote area, here today.
The first day of the Festival witnessed great enthusiasm and overwhelming response from the people of the district wherein more than 1000 people especially the young generation attended the event and about 200 participated in the Rafting trip.
The DC along with SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, and other officers enjoyed the Rafting. The whole Festival is being supervised by SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar, besides the same activities shall continue at the venue till the organisers receive response from the visitors.
It is pertinent to mention here that the whole program of Rafting was conducted under strict standards of safety measures and without any incidence the people especially the youth of the district enjoyed the entire event.
The participants extended gratitude to the administration especially DC Doda for taking such innovative initiative as a youth engagement programme in the district, besides also urged to organise such programs in the near future also.
SDM Thathri, Athar Amin Zargar, besides senior officers from civil as well as police administration enjoyed the day long festival at Shibnote.
