JAMMU, Aug 21: Kashmir Division dominated the Inter-Division Carrom boys (all age groups) Competition, which was declared open by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Chanchal Kour in a well attended inaugural function at Youth Hostel, Nagrota here today.
In all, 28 boys including 14 from Kashmir and 14 from Jammu divisions are taking part in the Competition.
The Competition is being organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports District Jammu, under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, Director Youth Services & Sports, and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports, Jammu. while Chanchal Kour is organizing secretary.
The main objective of this competition is to select the teams for representing J&K State at the National scene.
Earlier, in Carrom Under-14 boys singles, Romin Fayaz of Kashmir Division defeated Shubam Pangotra of Jammu Division by 2-0 sets, while in Carrom Under-14 doubles,  the duo of Vishwas and Akshay of Jammu Division beat the pair of Riyan and Ubaid of Kashmir Division in two straight sets (2-0) and the pair of Luqman and Momin Fayaz of Kashmir Division defeated Preet Singh and Aquib Mushtaq of Jammu Division in two straight sets by (2-0).
In Carrom Under-17 boys singles, Mohd Shoaib of Kashmir Division outplayed Wahid Mushtaq of Jammu Division by 2-1 sets, while in Carrom Under-17 boys doubles, Zubair Maqbool and Firdous Hammid of Kashmir Division got better of Tanish and Rohit of Jammu Division in two straight sets and the duo of Sahil and Saifan Javaid of Kashmir Division beat Aditya and Shoaib of Jammu Division by 2-1 sets
In Carrom Under-19 boys singles, Keshav Singh of Jammu Diviision drubbed Adil Bashir of Kashmir Division by 2-1 sets, while in Carrom Under-19 boys doubles, Nazim and Irfan of Kashmir prevailed over Abshishek Singh and Gourav Chib in two straight sets.
Meanwhile, the Inter-School District Level Competition in the discipline of Handball Under-19 Girls concluded at Dogra Ground, Shastri Nagar here.
In the final, Govt. Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi defeated St. Francis Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor.
The matches were officiated by Taqdir Singh, Vikram, Sunny, Anil Dogra, Anil Gandotra and Amit Sharma.
In Football Under-19 boys, Jodhamal drubbed KC Public School via tie-breaker by (5-4) goals, MHAC Nagbani beat APS Kaluchak via tie-breaker by (4-2), DPS beat Spring Dales by 3-0 and BSF Paloura outplayed Heritage by 1-0 goal. The matches were officiated by Ajay Sharma, Tanpreet, Tarunpal, Gurbachan, Amit and Mahadev.
