Champion Academy, Bhalla Cricket Club register wins; sail to next stage

KATHUA, Mar 2: Champion Academy Chandigarh and Bhalla Cricket Club Pathankot registered wins in their respective matches and sailed into next stage of the ongoing 9th Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket C’ship at sports stadium, here today.
In the first match played in the morning session today, SR Cricket Club Kurukshetra won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Champion Academy Chandigarh while batting first set a target of 136 runs in 20 overs by losing 10 wickets. SR Cricket Club Kurkushetra failed to chase given target and manage to score only 98 runs by losing 9 wickets in stipulated overs.
Sahil was declared as man of the match who took 3 wickets by giving only 3 runs in his 4 overs spell.
In the second match, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Bhalla Cricket Club Pathankot scored 130 runs in 20 overs by losing all the wickets. Sukhjinder scored 30 runs in 26 deliveries with the help of 3 boundaries and 1 six, while Rohit scored 37 runs in 35 balls with the help of 4 boundaries.
In reply, SR Cricket Club Kurukshetra failed to chase the given target and made only 101 runs by losing all the wickets in 19.5 overs. Sukhjinder took 3 wickets in 4 overs.
Sukhjinder was adjudged as man of the match for his overall performance.
Tarsem, Himanshu and Sandeep acted as umpires during the matches, while Gurpinder acted as referee.
