CGWB organizes State Level Painting Competition

JAMMU, Jan 20: Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Ministry of Water Resources River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation has organized 6th State Level Painting Competition in Jammu and Kashmir at Tawi River Front Park Jammu, which was followed by a prize distribution function at Indian Institute of Integrated Medicines, here today.
The Theme of the Competition was “Protect Ground Water and Rivers from Pollution”.
In this competition, a total of 50 students of classes 6th, 7th and 8th standard participated. In this Painting Competition, first prize of Rs. 5,000, second prize of Rs 3,000 and third prize of Rs. 2,000 were awarded to first three toppers where as Consolation prizes of Rs. 1000 each were awarded to next 10 participants in the merit.
The chief guest of the programme was Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, who distributed the prizes among the winners.
Jahanvi Choudhary Class won the first prize, Verindera Bhagat of Class 7th of Heritage School Jammu won the second prize and Taniya Sharma of Class 7th of Army Public School Samba won the third prize.
In his speech, Mr Gupta said that such activities give boost to morale of children and their hidden talent.
Earlier, the welcome address was presented by J N Bhagat, Head of Office, Central Ground Water Board, North Western Himalayan Region Jammu.
