JAMMU, Jan 6: Country Cricket Academy (CCA) and Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) registered resounding wins in their respective matches and entered into the semis of the ongoing 3rd Budding Cricket Tourney, being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
In the first match, Country Cricket Academy (CCA) smashed JKP Juniors by a huge margin of 89 runs and registered berth in semifinal round of the tournament.
Batting first, CCA scored 168 runs for the lost of 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Manik Sharma was the top scorer with 64 runs including six balls towards the fence, whileas Satyam and Ashish made 30 and 23 runs respectively.
For JKP Juniors side, Rohan was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets in four overs and Shivansh claimed 1 wicket in 2 overs.
In reply, JKP Juniors failed to chase the target and bundled out at paltry 80 runs for all out. Gagandeep Singh made 20 runs and Rohan contributed 14 runs.
For CCA side, Shushant claimed 2 wickets, whileas Agartya and Arastu took 1 wicket each.
Manik Sharma of CCA was declared as man of the match.
In the second match, MGCA crushed RN Chopra Cricket Academy (RNCCA) by 7 wickets and entered into semis of the tourney.
In the first inning, RNCCA made 128 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Sarthak was the top scorer with 34 runs, whileas Harsh and Jagteshwar made 24 and 10 runs respectively.
For MGCA side, Gill and Vasu shared 2 wickets each and Sanath took 1 wickers.
The MGCA chased the target and won the match by 7 wickets. Sahil Malhotra played well, smashed some crispy shots and scored 91 runs in just 42 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and 4 sixes, whileas Sumit made 10 runs.
For RN CCA side, Blamin, Aditiya and Marutwah shared 1 wicket each.
Sahil Malhotra of MGCA was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Indraj, Pinku and Shashi, while Sachin and Surinder were umpires and Rahul maintained the scorecard.
