AKHNOOR, Nov 1: Cantt Cricket Club defeated Khalsa Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 5 runs in the 7th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor, which got underway at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
The Tournament was inaugurated by SHO Akhnoor, Pushpinder Singh in an impressive function, which among others was attended by Sham Singh Langeh, chairman Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor, who is also the organizing secretary of the Tournament.
Winning the toss and batting first, Cantt Club scored 153 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Rahul scored magnificent 73 runs, while Ameet contributed 18 runs. For Khalsa Club, Amarjeet took 4 wickets, while KK bagged 3 and Vishal claimed one wicket.
In reply, Khalsa Club managed to score 147 runs and lost the match by 5 runs. Vishal, Rahul and Button contributed 41, 31 and 24 runs to the total respectively. Parshotam was the wrecker-in-chief for Cantt Club, who took 4 important wickets to bag the man of the match award.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Chander Kiran as umpires, while Lucky was the scorer.
