CA XI drubs Income Tax XI by 49 runs in friendly T20

JAMMU, Dec 26: CA XI defeated Income Tax XI by 49 runs in a friendly T20 match at Jammu University Grounds, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, CA XI scored a decent total of 173 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Amit Gupta, Nitin Mahajan and Chetan Sharma were the main contributors with 50, 40 and 20 runs respectively. Sunny took 2 wickets for Income Tax XI.
In reply, Income Tax XI managed to score 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Naresh was the top scorer with 48 runs, while Sandeep contributed 20 runs to the total. Ajay Gupta was the wrecker-in-chief for CA XI, who scalped 4 important wickets. For this bowling display, Ajay was declared best bowler, while Amit Gupta, who earlier slammed half-century was declared best batsman.
Commissioner Income Tax J&K, AK Thathai was the chief guest on the occasion, while Commissioner Income Tax (Appeals), who was skipper of the Income Tax XI, was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Joint Commissioners RK Kakkar and Rakesh Kumar and Assistant Commissioner BB Gupta.
The awards were distributed by AK Thathai (CIT), BB Singh CIT (Appeals), CA Dalip K Kaul, Chairman, J&K Branch of ICAI alongwith members of Executive Committee CA Vikram Garg (Vice Chairman), CA Anil Sharma, CA Shalay Razdan, CA Sandeep Pachnanda and CA Deepak Kapahi.
