R&B declared open Annual Sports Meet-2015 at St Joseph School Baramulla yesterday. MLA, Baramulla, Javed Hassan Baig, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, BA Khan, MD, JKPCC, PL Bhushan, Principal of the School, Father Dr Johnson besides, senior Government officers and parents of the students were present on the occasion. The Minister while interacting with the students advised them to bear in mind that hard work done during their preparatory years spent as a student in the school shall be key for their success in the profession they chose. He said “these years will be one of the most meaningful period in your life and would serve as the guiding one for the rest of the life”. Mr Bukhari said that school should keep pace with changing technology and impart technical knowhow of modern technology to the students enrolled in the school. He said apart from traditional games football, cricket and hockey, the school should introduce the games like lawn tennis, table tennis, Rugby, Archery, Shooting and swimming which are being played internationally. Javed Baig while appreciating the role played by St. Joseph management in the field of health and education said that the organization has done a commendable job in keeping the institutions functional despite facing difficulties during a long spell of turmoil. He announced Rs. 10 lakh out of his CDF for the development of St. Joseph hospital in view of the social services being extended by this prestigious health institute to the people of the state. On the occasion, the Minister and MLA gave away sports and academic awards among the meritorious players and students of the school. Later the Minister visited Sheeri and laid foundation of 30 Mtr long truss girder bridge being constructed over nallah Mundri at Audoora in Baramulla district. The bridge coming up at an estimated cost Rs 3.33 crore, targeted to be completed by March 2016, will provide connectivityto Malpora, Masran, Tadipora villages of the area.
