Budding sportspersons vie for top honours in Inter-Schools Competitions

JAMMU, Apr 29: Despite hot weather conditions, young sportspersons of almost entire Jammu division are busy in Zonal Level Inter-School Competition and are sweating-it-out to vie for the top honours in various sports disciplines.
An Inter-School Zonal tournament was organized by District Youth Services and Sports Department at JK Police Public School Miran Sahib.
ZPEO, Miran Sahib, Poonam Kotwal. Principal GHSS Miran Sahib, Janak Raj, Principal JK Police Public School, Sanjeev Pradhan, ZEO Miran Sahib, faculty members, sports lovers in large number were present on the occasion.
In Kho-Kho Under-17 (Girls), GHS Simbal Camp defeated J&K Police Public Miran Sahib whereas in Under-14 (Girls), Army Public School Miran Sahib defeated GGHSS Simbal. Both these matches were decided with a slender margin of 1 point.
In Kabaddi discipline U-17 (Girls) GBHS Simbal camp defeated Stephen International with a big margin of 13 points, while in U-14 (Girls) GGHS Simbal Camp defeated team of GMS Brij Nagar with a margin of 9 points.
The matches were officiated by S. Amolak Singh, Kulbir Singh, Narayan Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Anil Sharma, Harmeek Singh, Naresh Kumar, Narinder Kour, Hardeep Kour, Nisha Sharma and Pawandeep.
Two days Zonal Level Inter-School Tournaments in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling for boys section in the age group of Under-14 and Under-17 years commenced at Pouni and Chassana Zones of Reasi.
At Zone Pouni, Tehsildar Munshi Ram declared the tournament open at Government Higher secondary School Pouni in which around150 students of different schools are participating. Bansi lal Magotra, Principal HSS Pouni was the guest of hounor. Others present on the occasion includes ZPEO Pouni Govind Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Ram Lal, Anil Gupta, Sudesh Kumar Mattoo, Ashok Kumar, Tour Kumar, Sarolj Bala, Kuldeep Raj etc.
While at Zone Chassana, Narinder Kumar Naib Tehsildar Chassana inaugurated the function, while Bhim Singh Naib Subedar 60 RR was the guest of Honour. ZPEO Chassana Manohar lal, ZPEO Reasi Om Parkash, Sarpanch Chassana Jasbir Singh, Pardeep Nag, Pushkar Raj, Des Raj were also present on the occasion. Around 160 students of the different Zones of Zone Chassana in Boys section are competing in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and Volleyball and wrestling. The tournament is being organized under the supervision of Dr SS Chib, the District Youth services & Sports Officer Reasi.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Samba Organized Inter School Zonal Level Cricket Tournament at Samba Stadium. All the participants of Samba Zone participated in the tournament with total no. of 107 players of 09 different schools from all over the Zone. The Tournament was inaugurated by the District Sports Officer, Subash Chander, while ZEPO Samba Rakesh Verma was the organizer.
In cricket final, Calvary Mission High School Samba defeated GMS Sadoh by 9 wickets, while in first semifinal, Calvary Mission High School Samba and won by Calvary Mission High School by 9 wickets and in another semifinal GMS Sadoh emerged winner by 6 runs. Ribon Sambyal won the man of the match award by scoring 20 runs, while Neeraj Kumar of GMS Sadoh scalped 6 wickets.
Annual Inter School Competition of Nangali Zone started today in the discipline of Kho Kho, Volleyball, kabaddi and athletic organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Govt Higher Secondary School Chandak.
The competition was declared open by Anju  Rishi, Vice Principal Govt Higher Secondary School Chandak.
In Kabaddi Undere-14 (boys), MS Qasba beat MS Bela Chandak (23-19), while in Kabaddi Under-17 (boys),
High School Bandichechian trounced Higher secondary School Chandak (20-17)
The matches were officiated by Amarjeet Singh, Sushma Sharma, Devinder Singh, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Nirdosh Kumar, Jhangir Hussain, Jagjit Singh, Kuldeep kumar, Satinderpal Singh, Narinder Singh, Damanpreet Singh, Neeraj Sharma, Pushkar Raj, Mukesh Kumar, Harmik Singh, Jatinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar and Neeraj Sharma.
Inter-School Tournament was inaugurated by MLA Akhnoor, Rajiv Sharma at HSS Chowki Choura. In Volleyball Under-17 boys, ghds Chowki Chora emerged winner, while in Volleyball Under-14 boys, GMS Chowki Chora emerged winner and in Kh-Kho Under-17 boys, Govt HS Rah Salyote was the winner.
Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Cricket Girls was held at Govt HSS Akhnoor under the supervision of Anju Gupta, ZPEO Akhnoor. Around 250 girls participated in the event.
On the first day of Bhalwal Zone girls section Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament at HSS Bhalwal, held under the supervision of Veena Tickoo, ZPEO, Tiny Tots School dominated in Under-17 girls Volleyball, while MHAC Nagbani and Chenab Valley School emerged winners in Kabaddi Under-14 and under-17 girls respectively. In Kh-Kho GHS Domana and GHS Seri Panditian were the winners.
The girls section tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball were held at Government Higher Secondary School Canal Road, Jammu, under the supervision of Saroman Dogra, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Jammu. The selection trials in cricket was held at GSS Bakshi Nagar. District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion, who declared the Tournament open and stressed upon the players to participate more and more in sporting activities for fitness and allied purposes.
Inter School Tournament in the sports disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi ad Kho-Kho girls U-14 and U-17 years got underway at Govt. Boys High School Jammu Cantt today.  In all 250 Girls from different schools of satwari zone are competing for top honors.
The tournament is being conducted under the chairmanship of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu and under the  overall supervision of Kiran Jyoti, ZPEO Satwari.
In Kabaddi U-17 Girls semifinals, G.H.S Bhour Camp beat GHSS Satwari by 19-13, GHSS Mandal beat GGH S Sohanjana by 20-11.
In Kabaddi U-14 Girls, Wazir Janki Nath School beat GHS Old Satwari by 26-14, Govt MS Narwal Pain beat GHS Sohanjana by 15-12 and Govt MS Rakh Bandhu outplayed Wazir Janki Nath by 27-23.
The matches were officiated by the Jasdev Singh, Harvinder Singh, Jatinder Kour, Ravinder Singh and Rupinder Kour.
In Under-14 Girls Kho- Kho, GMS Upper Gadi Garh beat GHS Sohanjana  by 3-2 points, St John Convent defeated St Peter Karan Bagh Satwari by 9-3, GHS Bhour Camp prevailed over GHS Nari Wala by 4-3 and Model Middle School beat GMS Rakh Bandu by 12-9.
In U-17 Kho Kho, GHS Sohanjana beat GHSS Mandal by 4-2 points, St John convent beat GHSS Satwari by 9-3, GHS Raipur Satwari defeated GHS Bhour Camp by 6-3. And St Peter Karan Bagh got better of Wazir Janki Nath by 5-2 points.
The matches are being officiated by panel of experts of Department of Youth Services and Sports which includd Asa Singh, Hardev Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Neeru and Ravinder Singh.
At Gandhi Nagar Zone the Tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Wrestling was held under the supervision of Sher Singh, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Gandhi Nagar AT Government High School Kalu Chak.
In Under-17 girls, HS Gandhi Nagar defeated hs Sugoon by 9 points, HS Pul Tawi defeated Doon International School by 4 points, while in Volleyball Under-14 girls, HS Chowdi beat HS Khanna Chargal by (3-1) sets.
At Arnia Zone the competitions were held under the supervision of Harshi Kesh Koul. The teams which emerged winner in Under-17 Volleyball was HSS Allah, in Under-14 Kabaddi HS Saidgarh and in Under-14 Kho-Kho HS Arnia.
At RS Pura, City Middle School emerged winner in Under-14 Kabaddi Girls, while in Kabaddi under-17 Girls, GHSS RS Pura was the winner and in Kho-Kho Under-14 years, gghs Dablehar emerged winner, while in Kho-Kho Under-17 Girls GGHS Rang Pur Maulana was the winner.
In KhO-Kho Under-17 girls at Miran Sahib Zone, GB HS Simbal Camp defeated J&K Police Public School, while in Kh-kHo Under-14 girls, Army Public School Miran Sahib was the winner.
