JAMMU, Jan 7: Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti (BSS) distributed nearly 84 solar lights among needy students and teachers of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Ambphalla, here today.
The solar lights were distributed by Ved Bhushan BSS chairman, Satish Mittal BSS treasurer and president of the School, KK Mengi vice president of Management Committee of the School, Pradeep Tripathi, BSS Prant Nirakshak and Shiv Prasad Raina.
Speaking on the occasion, Ved Bhushan informed that a total worth of Rs 1.8 crore solar lights were earmarked to distribute among needy students hailing from BPL families of J&K and Ladakh UT.
“With help of a philanthropist namely Braham Rattan Aggarwal we received these solar lights to facilitate needy students and teachers,” said Ved Bhushan, adding that during COVID-19 time many philanthropists came forward to help suffering masses.
He further said that the students residing in remote areas especially belonging to BPL need proper lighting facilities during night to continue their studies and we are trying our best to mitigate their sufferings. “We have identified nearly 36 schools across the J&K and Ladakh UTs where these solar lights will be distributed among needy students,” he added.
