JAMMU, Oct 25: BSF Inter Frontier Badminton Competition 2017 was held at BSF Campus, Paloura, which concluded with an impressive and colourful function here today.
Shuttlers from all Frontiers of Border Security Force participated in this three days competition.
South Bengal Frontier emerged overall champion, Meghalya Frontier secured overall 2nd position. Bibhu Malick of South Bengal Frontier outplayed Narender Yadav of Kashmir Frontier in Open singles category.
Reiterating the commitment for better and healthy life, Ram Awtar, IG BSF said that games lead to physical as well as mental health of soldiers who are dedicated to serve the nation with higher synergy levels.
He said, BSF has recognized the need to maintain a proper equilibrium between a healthy mind and healthy body to achieve sustained professional efficiency, adding sports not only develop leadership qualities, esprit-de-corps and discipline but also inculcate a sense of brotherhood, cooperation and comradeship.
He further said during the conduct of these competitions, talented players of various disciplines have been selected, adding that these selected players will be put through intensive coaching at respective places of concentration under seasoned coaches further to be participated in national games.
