JAMMU, Mar 24: British International School, Sainik Colony, Jammu (the first IB candidate school in J&K) hosted its Annual Award ceremony for the year 2017-18, here today.
Meritorious students who performed exceedingly well in academics and extracurricular activities were awarded by the chief guest on the occasion.
The function started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Dr Abdul Rashid, Commissioner/ Secretary Information, Science Technology & Labour in the presence of Gita Sharma, Chairperson of British International School.
While honouring the toppers in academics and extra-curricular activities, the chief guest said that the School should give emphasis on the overall development of children.
“Children are the nation builders and leaders of tomorrow and as educators and citizens we need to do all we can to encourage their potential to think, create, collaborate and persist,” Dr Rashid said.
The chief guest was told that British International is the first IB school in J&K, where the teachers are providing a rigorous, high-quality education, offering professional development that improves pedagogy and leadership.
