JAMMU, Nov 15: Magnificent half-centuries by Pranav Satish Gupta and Divya Pratap Singh helped Jammu and Kashmir to end day-1 of the match of CK Nayudu Under-25 Cricket Tournament against Assam at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.
Skipper Asif Khan was unbeaten on 27 runs, while the other batsman was yet to come when the stumps were drawn today after 89.4 overs.
Earlier, losing the first wicket in the form of UN Mir early in the innings, the duo of opener Divya Pratap and promising Pranav Gupta added 163 runs between them, before latter fell at his individual score of magnificent 93 runs and the team’s total at 172/2 in 64.2 overs. After the dismissal of Pranav, J&K lost 3 quick wickets at the same score of 180 runs in the form of Divya Pratap, Muneer Ahmed (0) and Amir Sofi (0), before Gokul Baru fell at his individual score of 12 runs and the team’s total of 219/6 at the draw of stumps. Pranav was the top scorer with 93 runs off 186 balls, studded with 13 delectable boundaries, while Divya contributed 74 runs off 199 balls with the help of 9 crispy boundaries. Asif Khan chipped in with valuable unbeaten 27 runs.
For Assam, M R Das was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 important wickets, while S A Das and P Sonowal claimed one wicket each.
