BOMIS hosts inter-school Roller Skating C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 17: BOMIS Jammu took pride in hosting the two-day inter-school Roller Skating Championship 2022-23 in association with Sahodaya School Complex Jammu, here today.
The chief guest of the occasion was Pawan Kumar, Deputy General Manager State Bank of India, while guests of honour were Rohini Aima, Principal Jammu Sanskriti School, Ankush Kohli, Assistant Director, Hospitality and Protocol Department and inaugurated the championship by lighting the lamp.
The chief guest said that both academics and sports are equally important for the overall development of children and he also motivated the participants to perform well.
Principal of host School, Aparana Kohli welcomed the guests as well as the participants from various schools. She also highlighted that winning and losing are only part of the game. One must enjoy the game and play well. “BOMIS Jammu is committed to the intellectual and physical development of its students and this championship is a part of these efforts,” she said.
Thereafter, the chief guest declared the championship open, wherein students from nearly 50 schools of Jammu participated in the competition.
The winning students were honoured with medals and citations after the event of the day. Earlier, the day commenced with School prayer, all religion and world unity prayer which gave the message of world unity and world peace.
The contestants competed with each other in 300metres and 500 metres Skating races respectively, as per their age groups. All the participants were given participation certificates and the winners were awarded with medals and accolades.
Gold medal was bagged by Hazel Suri of Jodhamal Public School, Silver medal was bagged by Pragun of Presentation Convent School and Bronze medal was secured by Malvika Sharma of Rich Harvest School in 300 metres under-8 girls category.
Gold medal was bagged by Aayraa of Jodhamal, while Silver was bagged by Pragun of Presentation Convent School and Bronze was secured by Trisha of RMG International School in 500 mtrs under-8 girls category.
The Gold medal was bagged by Rayansh of GD Goenka, Silver was claimed by Ismael Hayal of IDPS School and Bronze medal was secured by Shiva Gupta of Jodhamal in 500 mtrs under-8 boys category, whereas the Gold medal was bagged by Aahana Gupta of Jodhamal, Silver by Enaya Hayyat of IDPS School and Bronze by Manmehak Kaur of Heritage School in 500 mtrs under 8-10 girls category.
Gold medal was bagged by Jayadidya Chamvyal of Rich Harvest, Silver by Abhyudava of Model Academy School and Bronze by Rudraksh Singh of G.D Goenka in 500 mtrs under 8-10 boys category.
The Gold medal was bagged by Sugand Mahajan of Jodhamal, Silver by Vanaya Raina of G.D Goenka and Bronze by Navdeep Kaur of Heritage School in 500 mtrs under 10-12 girls category. The Gold medal was bagged by Puneesh Puri of Heritage School and Silver by Ansh of Rich Harvest School in 500 mtrs under 10-12 boys category.
