RAMNAGAR, Mar 23: In its ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between police and public, besides channelizing energy of youth to help them not to derail from the mainstream, a grand dangal competition was organized by Udhampur Police at Ramnagar under Civic Action Programme, here today.
44 wrestlers from Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Udhampur participated in the Dangal which included some prominent wrestlers of the State.
Thousands of people from Udhampur, Roun-Domail and Ramnagar witnessed the event.
SSP Udhampur, Suleman Chowdhary inaugurated the event which was won by Bobri Pahalwan of Jammu, while Babu Din of Ramnagar remained runners-up. Winner was given RS 10,000 as the cash prize, a gurj and a certificate, while runners-up was presented Rs 7000 and a certificate.
2nd maali was won by Makhan Din of Ramnagar whereas Omkar Singh of BSF remained runners-up.
Later, prizes were distributed by Abhishek Sharma DySP, SDPO Ramnagar and Inspector, Deepak Pathania, SHO Police Station Ramnagar.
