JAMMU, Aug 4: To promote the rich traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented its 272th Regular Saturday Series Musical Play ‘Bum Bum Bhole’ in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production & National College of Computer Education at open air theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, here.
The programe was inaugurated by the chief guest, VK Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity , Government of India, while JK Raina, Freelance Producer/Director Films, Dr Anju Dogra, Health Department, Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department and Vinod Dogra, Chief Service Engineer Excide & RP Amla, Event Director were the guests of honour.
BLSKS presented traditional folk culture of Jammu province by displaying variety of songs and other items.
The chief guest lauded the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan and underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the state to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication.
Earlier in his address, ML Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS highlighted the story of Amar Katha, the cave which was chosen by Bhole Shankar for narrating the secrets of immortality and creation of Universe to Maa Parvati Ji.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Usha Handoo, Troupe leader STAP explained aims and objectives of the programme which have been assigned to the Sansthan for betterment of society.
The singers, musicians and actors who performed were Rajni Gupta, MC Kotwal, KK Joshi, Kuldeep Raj, Sumeeta Bhat, Sakshi, Rishab Manhas, Ishu Sharma, Anil Bhat, Neelam Gandotra, Kamla Devi, Chahat Chadha, Mehak Sharma, Shiv Kumar, Jeet Raj, Suhani Rathore, Shaan Khan, Mohd Afroz, Sunil Kumar, Uttam Singh Manhas, Tilak Raj, Bindia Arora, Ajay, Mukesh Arora, Bhanu Partap Singh, VijayRaina,Sahil Gill, Surinder Verma, Bodh Raj and Shiv Kumar. Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
