BJC lifts 4th Kabaddi Cup title

JAMMU, May 2: Bawa Jitto Club lifted the 4th Kabaddi Cup title by defeating Jammu United Club, organised by Sports Development and Promotion Association at MHSS Domana, here today.
A total of 16 teams from Jammu participated in the tournament. Atul Sudan youth leader and social activist was the guest of the honour, whereas Rajinder Chib BJP District Jammu Rural president and Raj Dev Singh Sarpanch were the special guests on the occasion along with Sarpanch Naresh Singh Jamwal, former Sarpanch Gurbachan Singh and senior player Ajeet Singh.
Bawa Jitto Club defeated Jammu United Club by four points in a close contest. Both the teams were awarded with trophies and cash prizes. Kanav Sharma was declared the best raider of the match and Rajan Singh was the best defender. Sikander Singh and Pawan Singh were the officials.
Atul Sudan while speaking on the occasion appreciated efforts of SDPA for organising such sport events which will drag youth away from drugs. He said that games and sports should be part of our daily life which teaches us team spirit and discipline. He appealed to the LG Administration to provide Kabaddi mats to youth in rural areas.
Rajinder Chib assured the players and the organising committee that every possible support will be provided to them for exploring their talent so that they can represent J&K and India in Kabbadi.
Karan Gupta, Ranjeet Singh (Sandeep), Pankush Dutt Sharma (Pinku), Vishal Kumar, Manjeet Basson, Swaran Singh, Arjun Kashyap, Krish Gupta, Sunny Thakur and Maya were the committee members who organised the event.
