KATHUA, Nov 5: Bharat Vikas Parishad Kathua organized National Group Song Competition-2015 in the premises of Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School, here.
The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Bharat Bhushan , Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority.
The competition was presided over by Balbir Singh , Chief Education Officer , Kathua.
Earlier, screening of the participating teams was done by a committee and the four best performing teams were selected to take part in the competition’s final round. The teams were required to select a song from the prescribed book ‘Chetna ke Swar’ published by Bharat Vikas Parishad.
The programme was inaugurated by lighting of ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries followed by Saraswati Bandhana.
Prof. Ram Murti Sharma , Chief Patron of the organization welcomed the guests and the invitees. The performance of the teams were adjudged by TR Sumbriya , Rakesh Singh Sambyal and Kapil Thappa.
The team of Nav Adarsh Hr. Secondary School secured 1st rank while DAV Sr. Sec. School and Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua bagged 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Consolation prize was awarded to Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School , Kathua. Mementos and certificates were awarded to the winner teams by the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Bharat Bhushan lauded the role of organisation in inculcating a national spirit in youth of the day while the presiding officer, Balbir Singh highlighted the need of an all-round development of children by organizing such type of activities.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were P.C Gupta, president Bharat Vikas Parishad Kathua Unit, Gandharb Singh Katal, Chairman Nav Adarsh, Dayanand Sharma , Om Parksh Sharma, Mohinder Natha Sharma , Kartar Singh Lakhanpuria , Kapil Sharma , Mahi Pal Sharma , Sh. Sat Paul Badyal , Shiv Parsad Sharma, Charanjeet Singh, Shamsher Singh , Babu Ram Baghat and Radhe Shyam.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Gitanjli of Nav Adarsh, while the vote of thanks was presented by Ashok Gupta, secretary of Bharat Vikas Parishad Kathua Unit.
