Bhanu Partap wins Silver medal in BRICS Games

JAMMU, June 17: Brought laurels to the country and J&K-UT, Surya Bhanu Partap Singh secured Silver medal in the BRICS Games held at Kazan, Russia.
Indian Wushu team bagged 8 medals including (One Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze medals) in BRICS Games held from June 11 to 17, 2024. Surya Bhanu Partap from J&K bagged the Silver medal in 65 kg category by defeating Armenia and Belarus and lost to Russia in the finals.
The Indian Wushu team was shortlisted by the technical committee of the Wushu Association of India at Jammu. Surya Bhanu Partap Singh (Asian Games Medalist) was the only athlete from J&K participated in the Games. He also won a gold medal last year in the National Games and 5th Place in the 19th Asian Games at Hangzhou.
The Wushu Association of J&K President Vijay Saraf and General Secretary Bhavneet congratulated Surya Bhanu Partap for the Silver medal in the games and wished him all the very best for the forthcoming events.
Secretary J&K Sports Council also appreciated Surya Bhanu Partap for the feat. Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) and National Chief Coach of India congratulated Indian Wushu team for the outstanding performance in the games.
