KATRA, June 27: Wrestler Benia of J&K Police of Basantgarh, Udhampur lifted “5th Annual Battal Kesari title 2013”, here today.
The event was organized by Battal Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Battal in Tehsil Majalta and District Udhampur.
51 bouts were played in the event, wherein local wrestlers hailing from Jammu, Udhampur, Doda, Reasi, Kathua and J&K Police, besides wrestlers from Delhi, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Harayana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and BSF participated.
The first main bout was fought between wrestler Benia and wrestler Boom of BSF of Chandigarh. Winner Benia was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000, while runners-up wrestler Boom got Rs 7,000.
