Benia clinches Akhnoor Kesari Dangal title

JAMMU, Oct 5: Wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police clinched the 62nd Annual Akhnoor Kesari Vishal Dangal title by defeating Haryana Kesari 2014 Wrestler Mandeep Dholu of Rohtak in Haryana in 25 minutes bout.
The mega event was organized by Akhnoor Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Hari Mandir Ghat, Akhnoor. A total of 65 bouts were played and around 127 wrestlers drawn from within and outside the State participated.
Minister of PHE, Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest while treasurer, Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma, presided over the function. DSP Naresh Singh and Tehsildar Vijay Sharma were the guests of honour.
Wrestler Benia was awarded with handsome cash prize of Rs 30,000 by Minister Sham Lal Sharma and Shiv Kumar Sharma while runner up wrestler Mandeep Dholu was awarded with cash prize Rs 21,000 by president, Contractors’ Association, Kuldeep Singh.
2nd bout was fought between Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab and Mohanu of Patila in Punjab, which was won by Wrestler Gani. The 3rd bout was won by Kak of RS Pura (Jammu) who defeated Vikas of Khanna.
