JAMMU, Jan 21: Bharat Cricket Club (BCC) seniors registered victory over Jhelum Cricket Club (JCC) in KPL Veteran Cricket tournament, being played at KC Cricket Ground, here today.
Kirti Chattoo, captain JCC won the toss and elected to bat first but that decision quickly backfired as Sandeep Raina bowled out Sunil when team score was 17 runs. Ashok Dhar and Ramesh Maskeen tried to consolidate the innings but Ashok was brilliantly caught by Vivek Suri on his own bowling.
All the bowlers of BCC bowled on testing line and length but a late flurry by Amit took the score of JCC to 110 for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Amit scored 30 and Ramesh contributed 23 runs.
For BCC, Jitender and Vinod shared 2 wickets each, while Vivek Suri, Nittu and Sandeep took 1 wicket apiece.
Chasing a modest total of 111 runs, BCC seniors started the chase in style and achieved the target in 15.4 overs by losing 5 wickets. Rajesh Dutt, Rakesh Tickoo and Kuldeep Bhat scored 27, 24 & 18 respectively. For JCC, Amit and Ravinder took 2 wickets each and Naresh Fotedar clinched 1 wicket.
Nittu of BCC was declared as man of the match for his all round performance.
