BCC Reds lifts title trophy

BARAMULLA, Nov 12: BCC Reds trounced Rising Star Sopore in final match of Varmul Cup and lifted title trophy, organised by Baramulla Cricket Forum (BCF) at Jhelum Stadium, here today.
Renowned cricketer, Parvez Rasool was the chief guest of the event while Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, GN Itoo was the guest of honour.
The chief guest awarded cash prize Rs 50000 to winning team while Rs 25000 cash prize was given to runner-up team and Rs 5000 cash prize was awarded to Man of the Series. The teams stood at third and fourth places were awarded with cash prizes Rs 10000 each.
The best batsman and best bowler were awarded with Rs 5000 and Rs 10000 respectively.
Zahoor Xolu was declared as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
The general secretary of BCF, Zubair Ahmed Dar said that the main motive and objective of this kind of tournament was to provide quality cricket to young and budding players and keeping them away from drugs and other social evils.
