RAMBAN, May 12: Batote zone lifted the kho-kho Under-17 girls title trophy of the District Level Inter-Zonal Tournament in the disciplines of kho-kho, volleyball, kabaddi and badminton boys and girls, under the age group of 14 and 17 years, here.
The Tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Dewan Chand Thakur, DYSSO Ramban and supervision of Harshi Kesh Kaul, zonal physical education officer.
In the Opening Ceremony, MLA Ramban Ashok Kumar was the chief guest, while in the valedictory function, Headmistress Girls High School Ramban, Meena Kumari was the chief guest.
Earlier, in volleyball girls, Ramban defeated Batote in the summit clash to win the trophy, while in kho-kho Under-14 girls final, Ramban defeated Banihal. Ramban drubbed Banihal in kabaddi Under-14 and Under-17 girls finals to claim the trophies, while in badminton Under-14 girls, Ramban prevailed over Batote. In badminton Under-17 girls, Ramban again defeated Banihal to bag the title trophy.
Meanwhile, Banihal defeated Khari in volleyball Under-17 boys to clinch the title, while in volleyball Under-14 boys, Banihal got better of Gool in the final.
Kabaddi Under-14 and Under-17 boys titles went to Ramban by defeating Batote, while kho-kho Under-14 and Under-17 boys titles went to Batote by beating Ukhral and Ramban zones respectively.
The matches were officiated by Gh Rasool, Shafiqa Baigh, Joginder Gupta, Abdul Majid, Haroon Bhat, Mazaffar Ahmed, Bharat Singh and Satya Kumari.
