Bandeep, Jatin slam fifties as J&K thrashes Manipur by 8 wkts

MULAPADU (AP), Feb 28: Jammu and Kashmir crushed Manipur by 8 wickets in an easy contest in the ongoing Group A match of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Cricket Tournament at Mulapadu in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, put into bat, Manipur scored a good total of 182 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
Mayank Raghav top scored with 103 runs off 66 balls, studded with 11 fours and 5 sixes, while seasoned Yashpal Singh contributed valuable 51 runs to the total. From Jammu and Kashmir Rasikh Salam was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets by conceding 38 runs in his 4 overs, while Sharukh Ahmed Dar, Bandeep Singh and Waseem Raza claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Jammu and Kashmir reached the target easily by losing just 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Jatin Wadhawan and Bandeep Singh slammed magnificent half-centuries, hitting 59 runs each off 29 and 26 balls respectively. Jating hit 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Bandeep struck 4 fours and 4 sixes. Shubham Singh Pundir contributed unbeaten 30 runs off 23 balls, including one four and 3 sixes, while stand-in skipper Shubham Khajuria scored 30 runs of 25 balls with 4 fours and one six. For Manipur, Mayank Raghav and Yashpal Singh claimed one wicket each.
With this win J&K earned 4 points, while Manipur failed to secure any point.
