DODA, June 8: Banaras Cricket Club entered the semifinals of the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by the Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
Earlier, Banaras Cricket Club outplayed Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club by 25 runs.
Batting first after winning the toss, Banaras Cricket Club made 125 runs by losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Kuldeep scored 21 runs, while Galib contributed 20 runs to the total. For Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club, Uma and Vijay bagged 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club collapsed at 100 runs in 19.5 overs, thus lost the match by 28 runs. Vijay top scored with 28 runs, while Murali contributed 27 runs to the total. For Banaras Cricket Club, Kuldeep and Galib took 4 and 2 wicket respectively.
Kuldeep of Banaras Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance. The award was presented to him by Dr Akhtar Sohail.
The match was officiated by Darmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh as Umpires, while Waseem Raja acted as the scorer.
