KATRA, Mar 27: The Annual Zonal Tournament organized by the Sports Wing of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Board, Katra concluded in an impressive and well attended function at Darwar, here.
The concluding day witnessed the singles and doubles finals in both the disciplines.
In the badminton singles summit clash, Neeraj Katoch defeated Jagdish Chand in a tough contest by (21-17, 21-19), while in badminton doubles, the duo of Bagwan Singh and Charan Dass got better of the pair of Rajdeep and Randeep Singh by (21-9, 17-21, 21-12).
Meanwhile, in Table Tennis singles, Vishal Singh outplayed Sanjeev Koushal by (21-15, 21-18), while in the doubles event, the pair of Vishal Singh and SK Sharma drubbed the duo of Sanjeev Kumar and Rohit Abrol by (21-14, 21-16).
The selected teams of Bhawan Zone and Katra Zone will take on each other in the Inter-Zonal Tournament, beginning from March 28, 2014 at Katra.
The Tournament was held under the overall supervision of Ashok Kumar, Director Sports SMVDSB.
