B Tech Civil to face Electrical in summit clash

RAJOURI, Aug 25: In Inter-Department Cricket Tournament of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), B Tech Civil and B Tech Electrical have qualified for finals, which will be played in the DPL Ground tomorrow.
Earlier, the first semifinal between B Tech ERE and B Tech ITE, batting first, ERE scored 134 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Chasing the target, the ITE bundled out for 118 runs in 13 overs to lose the match by 16 runs.
In the second semifinal played between B Tech Civil and B Tech ECE, batting first ECE scored 85 runs in 14 over overs. Chasing the target, the Civil Engineering team achieved the target by losing 3 wickets thus won the match by 7 wickets.
The final match on Tuesday will be watched by Prof I A Hamal, Vice-Chancellor of the University as the chief guest, while Mohd Rashid Chowdhary will be guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Mohinder Pal Sharma, Vikramjit Singh, Balwinder Singh, Surinder Singh, Zafar Wani and Mohd Abass.
During the matches 16-member squad of University will be selected for North Zone Inter University Tourney being hosted by Delhi University tentatively in the month of October, 2014.
The tournament is being organized by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports under the overall supervision of Mohd Din, Deputy Director, Physical Education and Sports.
