JAMMU, Sept 26: Skipper Avesh Sharma played a magnificent innings of unbeaten 82 runs to guide JKCA Greens to an emphatic win by 74 runs over JKCA Reds in the ongoing Under-19 boys trial matches, being organized by the JKCA Provincial Committee at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, JKCA Greens sailed on a brilliant knock of unbeaten 82 runs off 139 balls by Avesh Sharma to score 198 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. He hit 6 delectable boundaries in his marathon knock in which he carried his bat through. He has been prolific run-getter so far in the four matches that he played with the scores of 51*, 40, 16 and 82*. Nitesh Jamwal, Ateev Saini and Arjun Bharti contributed 23, 19 and 11 runs to the total respectively for JKCA Greens. For JKCA Reds, Shantanu Gupta was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 36 runs in his 10 overs, while Abid Mushtaq bagged 2 wickets by giving away 23 runs in 10 overs. Akash Choudhary claimed one wicket.
In reply, JKCA Reds bundled-out for 124 runs, thus lost the match by 74 runs. Mohit Tang was the top scorer with 29 runs, while Jagteshwar Singh, Aamir and Abhishant contributed 22, 21 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For JKCA Greens, Arjun Bharti was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets, while Rishab and Sunil bagged 2 wickets each and Sidhant claimed one.
The match was officiated by Madan and Sunny Choudhary as umpires, while Pankaj Dutt was the match referee.
