Atul Gupta elected joint secretary of AICF

JAMMU, Jan 4: Atul Kumar Gupta has been elected as joint secretary of All India Chess Federation (AICF) in hotly contested elections which was conducted today by Madras High Court under the supervision of observers, appointed by Government of India.
Atul Gupta got 35 votes out of 62 votes. It was the first time that the election of the Chess Federation was not unanimous conducted but fought between two groups. Dr Sanjay Kapoor was elected as president, whereas Barat Singh Chauhan as secretary and Naresh Sharma as treasurer of the AICF.
Many Grand Masters from all over India and office bearers of All J&K Chess Association congratulated Atul for this historic win and hoped that the J&K will flourish more in the field of Chess.
Atul Kumar Gupta is presently president of All J&K Chess Association.
