BHADERWAH, Nov 2: Trouncing their rivals convincingly in their respective matches, Asraria Kishtwar trounced Masood Bhaderwah in a thrilling match and lifted Bhaderwah Premier League (BPL) trophy played at PG College Ground, here today.
Batting first, Masood scored 151 runs in stipulated 18 overs with blistering batting of Mehran Ganai, Mohsin Najar and skipper Shafqat Khakan Malik.
In reply, the opponent team got steady start with opener Hanan Malik but he made 82 runs for his team while Saqib and Jahangir contributed enough to chase the target in last over and registered a win over Masood Bhaderwah. Aadil Wani clinched three wickets in one over for Masood Bhaderwah.
Chief organiser of the tournament, Imtiaz-Ur-Rehman Butt said that the tournament was an opportunity for Chenab Valley youth to display their sporting skill and bolster their self confidence.
“About 22 teams from different parts of Chenab Valley participated in the first instalment of the T-20 tournament in which prizes worth 2.5 lakhs were distributed among the winning teams,” Imtiaz added.
