Army youth club upgraded in Budgam

BUDGAM, Mar 20: Army today said Chinar 9Jawan Club at Qasba village of Nagam area of Budgam district, which has been very effective in skill development of the youth since its inception in 2014, today saw an upgradation in its infrastructure with the construction of an additional hall, installation of 12 workstations for an upgraded computer training laboratory, projector for better training and sewing machines and knitting machine for women skill development.
A defence spokesman said the new facilities were dedicated to the public by Victor Force Commander, Major General Ashok Narula, in presence of a healthy gathering which included the District Collector and SP Budgam respectively. “The event highlighted the positive effect of the Chinar 9Jawan Club initiative on the youth of Budgam and also demonstrated the close coordination between the people and Army,” he said.
The spokesman said the highlights of the event were felicitation ceremony where a total of 80 youth received certificates besides, presentation of sewing, knitting and printing machines for women skill development. “Appreciating the youth for the vigour and zeal with which they were utilizing the facilities of the centre, the Victor Force commander appealed to them to continue to strive towards excellence for a brighter future,” he added.
