UDHAMPUR, Sept 15: An expedition team of Artillery regiment from 8 Mountain Division undertook a White Water Rafting on the Zanskar river in the Ladakh region to celebrate the reunion and raising anniversary of the regiment.
Zanskar river originates from high altitude plateaus of Sarchu on the border of Himachal Pradesh and J&K and is also known as the Tsarap. The river presents opportunities for rafting enthusiasts by providing challenging rapids which are famous among the river rafters the world over.
The Expedition commenced from Remala in Padam (Zanskar). The team of 20 rafters from the regiment of artillery successfully completed the Expedition in five days covering a distance of 160 kms.
The Expedition contributed towards the spirit of adventure of the participants and prepared them to face tougher challenges in an operational environment.
During the journey, the rafters interacted with tourists from all over the country and spread awareness about the Indian Army.
