JAMMU, Nov 25: Government Degree College (GDC) Billawar in collaboration with Army’s Rising Star Gunners today organized a series of events under operation Sadbhawana.
The inaugural function was presided over by ADM Billawar, Sandesh Kumar Sharma and Prof. Sunil Uppal, Principal GDC Billawar.
Officers from Army Unit, other invited dignitaries, faculty members of GDC Billawar, NCC, NSS and other students attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion Commandant B.S Chouhan laid stress on the management of various health issues prevalent among rural masses for which health experts from different domains were invited.
A large number of people especially ex-servicemen, senior citizens, faculty, students and general masses from adjoining areas visited and got themselves checked from doctors of SDH Billawar and Army from the fields of Gynecology, Dentistry, Pediatrics and General Physician.
In another event NSS unit of GDC Billawar organized an orientation cum awareness camp for farmers to redress their issues pertaining to crop management.
Farmers were made aware about various schemes by Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Agriculture Extension Officer; Dr. Manmohan Sharma, Plant Doctor Billawar; Naresh Kumar, AE Asstt and Ajay Paul Singh, Field Asstt.
Motivational, Encouragement and Career Counseling lecture was delivered by Captain N.K Srivastava.
Naib Subeder Devinder Singh, National Rowing Player, Team India who won three Gold and seven Silver and three Bronze medals spoke on importance of sports in daily life and as a career as sports person in different fields.
Prof. Sunil Uppal, Principal GDC Billawar guided the students on role of IT, use of e-content from different portals, online activities etc.
