SRINAGAR, Oct 16: Army today organised a martial arts event for the youth of Hajin and its adjoining villages in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A defence spokesman said despite the shutdown, the youth from Hajin, Vijipura, Shahgund, Kathpura and Tundpura participated with great zeal and enthusiasm display Taekwando skills.
The bouts were conducted under the supervision of Taekwondo Instructor, Afaq Parray, in which of twenty boys and two girls participated in the age groups of 12 to 20 years. The event started with show of skills by all the participants followed by bouts, he said, adding that avid participation was seen amongst the youth.
The defence spokesman said that this event has further contributed to the fast improving situation and strengthening the bonds between the people and their Army. “Prize distribution for the participants and refreshments for all present was organised after the bouts,” he said.
