Army organizes Kabaddi Tournaments

POONCH, Oct 23: In an effort to integrate the local youth with national mainstream and to promote the sports of Kabaddi amongst the locals of Rajouri and Poonch district, residing in the far flung areas, a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force organised a Kabaddi Tournament at Thanamandi.
The event saw overwhelming response in which eight teams from Basoni, Keri, Galuthi, Saaj and Thanamandi participated.
The eight teams had earlier played matches and were selected from local teams in their respective areas.
All the teams exhibited enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
The final match was played between teams from Mendhar and Saaj village today, which was won by Mendhar.
The prizes among winners and runners-up teams were distributed by Abdul Rashid, Vice Principal Government Degree College Thanamandi.
Large number of civil dignitaries, villagers and Kabaddi fans witnessed the match.
