Army organizes debate, essay writing competition

RAJOURI, Aug 7: Under Reasi based Rashtriya Rifles Headquaters, Rashtriya Rifles at Kalakote organized a debate and essay writing competition for school children, here today.
The event was organized with an aim to provide the students a platform to showcase their skill. The participating schools included Government Schools from Sialsui, Solki, Diyala, Khargala and Bhatera.
The competition was inaugurated by Anil Kumar Gujral, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Sialsui, who also presented a welcome address, while Commanding Officer of RR Battalion in his closing address emphasized on the need to develop skills of public speaking and motivated the participants to take maximum benefits out of such events.
In debate competition, the first prize was given to Bomesh Singh of GHSS Sialsui, while the second prize went to Rekha Sharma of GHSS Sialsui and the third prize was taken by Udbhav Sharma of GSS, Khargala.
In essay writing competition Anjali Kumari of GHSS Sialsui clinched first place, while Afsana Kossar of GHSS Solki bagged second place and the third place went to Deepak Kumar of GHSS of Sialsui.
Later-on, speaking on the occasion, Gujral threw light on the need of continuous up-gradation of technical, extracurricular skills in present era.
CO, RR Battalion gave closing address, while Principal GHSS Siasui along with the staff distributed prizes among the winners.
