Army organizes Cricket Tourney

MAHORE, May 19: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Samote, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force organised  ‘Samote Premier League 2013’ at Samote, Mahore, which concluded here last evening.
The aim of the tournament was to provide the budding cricketers a platform to display their cricketing skills as also to foster the spirit of brotherhood, goodwill and healthy competition amongst the youth.
A total of eight teams participated in the event. The matches were played on the popular T-20 format and the final match of the tournament was played between Kotranka XI and Samote XI, wherein batting first, Samote XI scored 130 runs and in reply Kotranka XI could score only 86 runs and the lost the match by 46 runs.
The Commanding Officer gave away trophies and medals to winners and Runner-up teams on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion assured the local populace that the Army would continue to provide all support to them in carrying out development activities in this region.
