Srinagar, Nov 2: Army today said the Kangan Premier League Tournament for the youths of Kangan and Gund tehsils of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has entered quarter-finals stage.
A defence spokesman said the finals will be played in the second week of November. “Apart from prizes, all the participants of 90 teams (1350 players) will be issued with individual ‘Certificate of Appreciation’,” he said.
The defence spokesman said this tourney has also been able to bring the people closer to the army. “Apart from the players, an ocean of audience has been turning up to witness these cricket matches which evince the people’s desire to resume their normal lives and not remain hostage to inimical elements,” he said.
