Ramban, Oct 26: Army’s 58 RR conducted Volleyball Tournament at Asthanmarg here, in order to provide opportunity for local youth to showcase their talent in field of sports.
Twelve teams from local area participated in the event. Initial three days league matches including semi-final match were conducted on knock out basis and final match was conducted today between Dharam Volley Club and MB Star Goyee Volleyball team, in which Dharam Volley Club lifted up the winners trophy.
The tournament culminated with felicitation including cash prizes to winner and runners up teams by DDC Chairman and village appointments.
In addition individual prizes which include Best Smasher, Best Booster and Best Player were also distributed.
The Volleyball tournament was a crowd puller and not only rekindled an enthusiasm among youth from the remote areas towards sports but also strengthened the connect with men in uniform.
