Kolkata, July 14:
London Olympics bound archer Deepika Kumari has joined Tata Steel as a manager in the company’s Sports Department, Tata Steel today said.
“The development is in line with the company’s philosophy of identifying sporting talent, providing them with opportunities to perform to their optimum at the highest levels of the sport and augmenting their employability potential.”
Deepika Kumari (18), hails from Jharkhand, only today concluded her strenuous preparations along with Bombayla Devi, Chakravolu Swuro, and India’s male contingment member Rahul Banerjee, Tarudeep Rai and Jayanta Talukdar at SAI.
They would fly to London tomorrow in advance to acclimatise the local weather before the competition early next month.(UNI)
