APS Jammu Cantt organises WILL MUN Conference

JAMMU, Aug 21: A three day-long WILL MUN Conference was organised by Army Public School Jammu Cantt from 18 to 20 August.
Chief guest of the event was Chairman of the School, Brigadier Gautam Segan, Deputy General Officer Commanding (GOC), 26 Infantry Division accompanied by the guests of honours Dr Kirti Segan, Vice Chairman, Colonel K V Mahindra, CO 15 Guards, SO schools Lt Col Hem Lata, Officer Rakesh Dubey, Joint Director Cooperative, Jasmeet Singh.
Thereafter the chief guest addressed the student delegates and spoke of how such platforms could be used to enhance the oratory skills and a confident personality.
The WILL MUN (Model United Nations) was an innovative idea of two siblings Sehajpal Singh, Secretary General and Minal Kour, Director General and alumni APS Jammu Cantt to prepare the students develop leadership skills, researching, writing, public speaking, critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
A delegation of over 240 students representing eight schools, 30 organising committee members, 18 Executive Board, five Secretary Board participated in three days power packed sessions.
The students actively participated in discussions and debates in committees like Lok Sabha, United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) and International Press (IP).
The ending committee sessions on the last day were jam-packed with enthusiastic debates and relentless discussions, followed by the closing ceremony where various award categories like High Commendation, Best Delegate Award, Special and Verbal Mention from all the committees were given by the Principal, Puneet Kaur along with Vice Principal Manmeet Kour of APS Jammu Cantt.
