APS Damana holds guest lecture on Mental Health

JAMMU, Oct 13: Army Public School (APS) Damana organized a guest lecture on Mental Well Being under the theme “Making Mental Health and Well-being for all a Global Priority”.
The session was conducted today in the school premises. The objective of the session was to enhance awareness of the students about importance of mental health and to provide them practical tips on how to cope and find solutions of problems.
Dr Vinod Dhar, a renowned Psychiatrist and expert in de-addiction services was the special guest on the occasion. He sensitized the students about the definition of Mental Health and the need to talk about it. He further stressed upon the fact of eustress (positive stress) and distress where one is in a dangerous zone and needs help. He talked about preventive steps and enjoying the journey of life.
Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana also sensitized the students about the importance of sleeping on time as it helps in rejuvenation and building the strong immune system. She asked everyone to follow biological rhythm of the body which should be in sync with that of the environment.
The session ended with question and answer hour from the audience.
